Blend up some Chocolate Banana Peanut Smoothie and surely you’ll get all the energy you’ll need to start your day right!
I have said it then and I am going to say it now, chocolate and peanut is one of the best marriages in the food world. There is no denying that. And if you throw in some bananas into the equation, now it’s a whole new dynamic isn’t it? Oh yes.
Just like this Chocolate Banana Peanut Smoothie which has been inspired by my favorite, the Banana Choco Peanut Milkshake from Jonah’s Fruit Shake and Snack Bar in Boracay. I don’t know how they the wonderful people at Jonah’s do it but their milkshakes are totally out of this world. A trip to boracay won’t be complete without having a milkshake or two from this popular establishment.
So, to make my version of Chocolate Banana Peanut Smoothie, I thought of using chocolate syrup but being the fickle that I am, I changed my mind and used cocoa powder instead. After all, when I make hot chocolate I use cocoa powder with non dairy creamer and brown sugar, but that’s another story. The thing is, I love how cocoa powder gives out a really chocolate-y taste to my hot chocolate. So for this one, cocoa powder it is.
You can actually use any type of peanut butter, smooth, creamy or chunky but for this one, I used an all natural creamy variety (because that’s the one I first grabbed from the fridge).
To make the smoothie, just blend bananas, milk, cocoa powder and peanut butter until smooth. As an extra treat, crumbled Choc-Nut would be good a way to top this ultra delicious smoothie.
