A quick and easy way to make crispy bacon every time.
I know not everyone will agree with me but I consider bacon, much like cupcakes (okay, all desserts) part of my basic food groups. I don’t eat bacon all the time, just once in a while (after all, I heard somewhere, moderation is the key) but when I do, I want them perfectly crisp. Just like how a proper bacon should be.
Want to know how to make crispy bacon every time? It’s actually pretty simple – bake them. But wait, there’s actually a technique.
Before, we used to cook bacon in a skillet. But they get wrinkly and not-oh-so-crispy which makes them sad bacon in my own humble opinion.
So I thought of experimenting with baking bacon in the open. The first time I tried, I baked the bacon in my silpat…. and oh my, wrong move!! The bacon, although they didn’t get all wrinkly, swam in it’s own bacon fat.
What I did was to use a cookie sheet then place a cooling rack on top of it so all the bacon fat will drip from the bacon and onto the cookie sheet. Perfect set-up.
So now, all you need to make sure is for the bacon not to overlap with each other so they won’t stick with each other when they bake. These pretty ones here are Purefoods Classic Honeycured Bacon.
Bake for 15 minutes or until done. See how the bacon fat has dripped from the bacon to the cookie sheet? Just perfect. Something to make for breakfast, yes? Oh, make sure to drizzle the bacon with a tablespoon of maple syrup. Totally an out of this world bacon experience.

- Line bacon in a baking rack. Make sure they don't overlap with each other
